* didn't enable redhats firwall
* xp uses sygate (all allowed while testing)
* the windows machine can ping other windows machines
* the linux box can ping nothing
* The network card on the linux box is a netcomm that uses the realtec 8139D chipset
This is starting to get on my nerves, linux has caused me nothing but problems so far and i'm getting really frustrated. I have several books on the subject but I'm completely overwhelmed by how complex some things seem to be. So if anyone can spare some time to help me out with this it would be greatly appreciated.
