Redhat 8.0 and Netgear FA310TX card

I cannot figure out how to get the driver for this thing to work, I checked Redhat's site and they said that the card was supported in RH8 and the driver was listed as tulip.c, but I cannot find that file on my machine. I found a newer version of the file, but was told that it was a huge pain in the @$$ to install just one driver, and it was better to update the whole driver file for network adapters, but I could not find that file either.

I am one lost newb man

try this as root:

/sbin/modprobe tulip

tulip.c is the source. the driver is tulip.o. u can try looking for it via locate:

locate tulip.o

(u might need to run updatedb first.)

if the module loads, put it into /etc/modules.conf:

alias eth0 tulip

hth.

Actually, it seems that all I had to do was run updatedb and it picked up my card, and off I went

Thanks a lot b4l
