Red Hat Networking


Hello i have a rh9 machine
i'm installing a 2nd nic cuz i need to share the internet, files and 2 printers

i need something like this http://www.geocities.com/charlee_peluca/linux.gif

can anyone help me?

You need to become familiar with netfilter.

http://www.netfilter.org/

If you see the term netfilter and iptables used don't get confused. Netfilter is the actual firewall and iptables is a front end to that. Iptables is the default tool used to configure the netfilter firewall to obey your wishes through rules and such. The above web site has the info you need.

mmm
i can ping and everithing but the "W" box can't see outside (yahoo.com or other webiste)

and one other thing when i do

./rc.firewall in rc.d i get
bad interpreter: no such file or directory

i found the soloution

when u get that message no such file or directory

it's because the file has some (^M ) trash caracters i don't know how to call that (tha happen cuz we copy the file from a dos based os)

so u have to run ViM and remove those ^M

then when u are done

press scape

type :wq newname

then

:q to exit...

hope anyone find usefull this info...
