Angry Question: MRTG+RRDTOOLS

Hi all,

I installed mrtg, rrdtools and router.cgi to trace the traffic in our cisco 6509 switch. but I don't know how to let rrdtools generate "*.rrd" files for every port. My procedure looks like following lines.
1. generate mrtg.cfg file and add it into crontab.
2. install gd and GD
3. install rrdtools, "make;make install;make site-perl-install"
4. configure "routers.conf" using perl
5. start httpd and snmpd
But I found lotsa error meesage in the page to say that *.rrd not found. I read the rrdtool and rrdcreate manual, nothing related with MRTG working.
would you please give me some help on this issue?
Thank you in advance.

Hi..

Please try NMIS.( Network Manangement Information System)

It is a combination or RRD with MRTG.
