ProFTP monitoring

I`m running a small FTP server using Slackware 10.0 (2.4.26 Kernel) using ProFTP. Its all running absolutely fine however, I would like to know if there is a way to monitor ProFTP's status in real time.

Specifically what I would like to know is who is connected to the server at a given time.

I can view the transfer log using the tail -f /var/log/xferlog command but this only seems to log when a file transfer has finished and not when they connect and while they remain connected. IIS 5/6 lets you do this by using the current activity button, what I need is a ProFTP equivalent.

Is there a way to get this information, is there another log file that I have overlooked? or do I need to turn on a more verbose logging to get this information?

Failing that, if this can`t be done, does anyone know of any other FTP server that I could use that will give this functionality.

Thanks in advance.
