Printing to Windows: Queues loaded but do not print

I have tried tirelessly to print documents from my linux box to a windows server.

I got as far as the print queues loading in windows print tray icon as Remote Level Documents by Guest (username). The print tray icon says the documents are printing however it never prints.

I have setup samba ln -s `which smbspool` /usr/lib/cups/backend/smb
the Samba/Cups backend to print documents.

I have also created and enabled the printer in http:\\localhost:631
I even see where it says

Quote:
Description: HP1310
Location:
Printer State: processing, accepting jobs.
Device URI: smb://mumby-rv6fkp2a9/hppsc131
When i print documents the queues are loadding in linux and then are sent without an error to the Windows box (according to linux)

THe jobs have completed according to my list of accepted jobs reported by http:\\localhost:631

what could prevent the queues from printin in Windows. They have made it far enough to the Windows print icon tray why arent any documents printing? Windows XP reports that the documents are printing but the never do????

Try configuring windows to print to a file rather than an actual printer. You can then look at the file to see if anything sensible is coming out. Also have you checked out the event logs to see what they say?
