If the net mask is 255.255.255.255, your computer is the only one in the network which is not possible(Thought ,I have a network with netmask as 255.255.255.252)

No rch. His point-to-point connection with his ISP. And in this case the mask will be 255.255.255.255 only

glad to know that its working now. Me too learnt few things while helping you. i didn't know about the "del" command of route.
you might not be knowing but i started a new
thread
to attract the attention of forum members to this issue.
