pppoe question

Hi, I'm totally new to Linux (<1 week) and am running Red Hat 7.3. In order to establish my pppoe connection my ISP tell's me to buy EnterNet 100 for Linux for $29.99. They offer no refunds or tech support of any kind for this, so I'm thinkin there's hopefully another way to get online in linux, like by doing a pppoe script or something, I just don't really know how to do that

Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.....

You can get away without giving them any more money. And besides, linux should be free!

here are two great places to start looking for info:
http://www.google.com/search?q=pppoe...utf-8&oe=utf-8

and

http://www.roaringpenguin.com/pppoe/

try these out and let me know if you run into any snags.

well, it looked like I did everything right. RP said there was nothing wrong with my pppoe interface and I entered all the appropriate configurations, but when I type adsl-start the cursor skips to the next line, prints a period and then my PC hangs.(I let it sit for a long while to be sure). So I rebooted and did adsl-status. It says it cannot read the PID file in /var/run/pppoe.conf-adsl.pid, so I go to look at that file, and it's not even there.

I can however ping my eth0 address if that means anything
