PPP Automatic Reconnect! How?

Hi!

I am using Suse 9.1 and I cant get my ppp connection to automatically reconnect.

I keep on having to do a "ifup ppp0" and it is annoying! I can't find any hooks or scripts that gets executed when the link goes down.

I know it is a little thing, could someone please point me in the right direction?

I would also like to insert my custom (DDNS etc.) scripts when the link is established, every time.

Thanks

There are options that are passed to pppd when it starts..

ondemand is the option that controls the connection based on identifying packets received..
Another is the idle timeout to allow it to drop when not used..

See man pppd for detailed info.
If your gui tools don't allow adding custom pppd commands, you will have to put them in the pppd specific conf file..

To run post-connection & pre-connection scripts, read the ifup command file and see what it looks for. Every distro is different and Suse isn't a distro I know. It will be something like post-up.
