Power loss, now no email etc

Step-dad tripped the breaker on my server and power went out. no biggie. i rebooted and got a message about my GNOME hosts file. Since then, i can only ping the LAN now, and can't get outside access from the machine, however, the server and all of it's apps are still usable from the outside. And now, my emails are bouncing back unresolved. I have no clue what is going on, except I know this isn't normal.

any suggestions?
