NTP sync up time

I have NTP configured on one system and it's synching with an NTP server. I use date to change the time on the system and then see if it syncs up. This takes a couple of minutes. Is the sync up time configurable? If so, where would this be done?

Thanks!

If you have NTP client running then you shouldn't need to use the date utility to set the time.

I don't know if you can configure the sync interval for ntp. Nobody would bother to do that. It works automatically.
