Question not able to delete bridge!

Hello,

I have added a bridge "mybridge" using brctl bu not added any interfaces yet. Even the brctl show command looks:
bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces
mybridge 8000.0000000 no

Now I try to do: brctl delbr mybridge and it gives:
bridge mybridge is still up: can't delete it

I performed ifconfig mybridge down but still the problem persists!

How to delete the bridge?

Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks!

Copy paste the commands you use and the output you get here.

Did you check your bridge interface really down after that? What does 'problem persists" mean? You still got the message "bridge mybridge is still up: can't delete it"?

Thumbs up bridge prob!

Thanks for your reply!
After the command: ifconfig mybridge down
when I perform: brctl delbr mybridge
still it was giving that bridge is still in up and can't delete it.

But the problem is solved now after rebooting once!
The bridge is deleted after rebooting the machine once.

Thanks!
