nooob wifi how to

Hello, i am a linux user for more than 5 years now but wifi /networking is unknown territory for me.
I have a Laptop on which I connect to internet using DSL via LAN card.
It has a Wifi card too.Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g (rev 01)
Can i use this wifi card to create a wifi network, via which my family members can connect and use internet via their pcs or mobiles?
if yes , how?

I am surprised you have not tried searching on linux wireless access point

You will also need to make sure that your chipset supports this mode.
