I installed redhat 9 , but when it tried to activate eth0 , it said Failuer! no link , check cable
Weird , seeying it worked fine an hour or 2 before with windows 2000 ...
the nic is a 3com , right driver is loaded , all cables intact...
Redhat 8.0 also gave this problem , so does debian.. (atleast knoppix , i installed the livecd to hdd , also fails with nic, but no reason given why..)
I already disabled the pnp option , as i had that problem on a P1 using A realteck isa card.. didn't help this time (unless i need to reinstall linux..
Already posted this on various Dutch sites , but they either don't care or are stomped to the reason why..
Btw, this is on my 2nd pc i have lying around , it's a amd xp 1800+
Tried it on my main system using the 2nd pc's hdd, same problems... even tried onboard lan , right driver is loaded, but again NO LINK... (according to redhat..)
