Unhappy No networking options in kernel configuration

Hi
i want to compile a new kernel on my fedora core 3 and change some configuration setting in NETWORKING OPTIONS.i download kernel-source (kernel-2.6.11-1.14) from kernel.org and extract it to /usr/src/ . i create a directory named "linux" in /usr/src/ (that is a soft link to my unziped kernel source).i run "make mrproper , make clean and then make menuconfig.but when the LINUX KERNEL CONFIGURATION appear , "Networking Options" not listed.i try other kernel source like 2.6.10 and 2.6.11.X but the result was same.my current kernel version is 2.6.11.1 and running FC3.i also view my .config file in /usr/src/linux and open it with vi editor and i find "Networking options" on that .config file.
can u help me .

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
