No Network after a while

Hello!

I have a RH box running samba. Some Windows PC can access the server fine. But sometimes the server seems to loose connectivity on the network! 'Destination unreachable' when you try to ping from and to the server. To solve this issue, I have to restart the network service and everything seem to work fine afterwards but only for a while again.

Do u guys think that it's the LAN card that has got a problem?

P.S. During the ping test from the server, the results seems to be very unstable: 10 ms to 4000 ms for a reply

All and realy all suggestions welcome!!!

First thing I would try would be changing ethernet cables, and using different ports on your hub/switch. If that doesn't work, and your not seeing the same problem on the other computers going offline I would try another ethernet card on that computer.
