NFSv4 idmap returns "nobody" - idmap daemons running

I have SUSE server, SUSE workstation and I can't get idmapping to work.

I have verified they both share the same domain name and both have the idmapd process running.

On the server, /var/log/warn indicates:
Dec 5 23:10:40 fs2 kernel: nfsd: nfsv4 idmapping failing: has idmapd not been started?

My export file on the server:
/data 10.0.0.90(no_root_squash,rw,wdelay,insecure,sync,fsid=0,no_subtree_check,crossmnt)

My autofs automount file (net connections):
fs2 -fstype=nfs4,rw,hard,intr,sec=sys,proto=tcp,fsid=0,port2049 10.0.0.12:/

In the above line, the NFS connection (from 10.0.0.12) is mounted in a folder called "fs2"

I know I have some security concerns with my NFS config... that will be analyzed shortly hereafter. My concern right now is my idmap problem.

Ideas?
