I just replaced my aging router with a new (actually used, but in good condition) Buffalo AirStation. It took me a bit of work, but I finally got both of my desktop systems connected (wired lan only for now) and accessing the internet. However, I'm not able to get either of them to mount the nfs shares of the other.
Both systems are set up with static ip numbers, and up to now it's all been working just fine. I've updated the ip addresses (from 192.168.1.[2,3] to 192.168.11.[2,3]) in /etc/network/interfaces, /etc/hosts, and /etc/hosts.allow, and restarted both systems (just to be sure everything was reset). I can ping them both by name or ip and get a perfect response from them.
But when it comes time to mount the shares, they both fail. Running mount on sys1 immediately comes back with an "access denied by server when mounting Sys2:/dir..." error, but the sys2 mount just ends up spinning forever and does nothing (update: I just tried adding "vers=3" to the mount options, and now I'm getting an identical error to the above).
I'm not at all sure where to go from here. Any advice for me? I need to get these shares mounted pretty quickly.

Reason: update
Your issue is going to more than likely be that the new router is not forwarding the requests on the port that nfs is using. First confirm which port you are trying to connect on then look up your manufacturers doc for the router and set up port forwarding for that port. By default home routers will only allow connections on the basic ports through(http, https, ftp, etc..)
