Networking through proxy.

Just moved in to student accommodation at uni, and they provided info on how to connect up to net. But nothing on linux. Im still fairly new to linux but without internet on it, i cant use it.

The proxy requires you to enter a username and password to be able to connect, and to then register your mac address which i have done. I dont know though what to change on the linux settings, there is nothing about proxies anywhere.

It is DHCP and required me on windows to enabled IEEE 802.1x authentication using PEAP. The auth method is a secured password.
Hope thats everything you need, and hope someone can tell me what to do.

Thanks.

I'm very surprised your system admins haven't provided a simple script for you. I live in a student accommodation myself, and the system admins provided me with a simple script for connecting to Internet.

Are you able to connect to the proxy at all?
