Networking Stops Shortly After Booting

SUSE 9.1 ran just fine on my system and I recent decided to upgrade to SUSE 10. Now, when I boot up, my networking works for about a minute and then stops. For example, I can ping my default gateway and then after 5 pings it stops. Then I get destination unreachable. I still can ping my local IP address. Same thing also happens when I bring firefox, it successfully connects to a site and then the networking stops.

I tried acpi=off and I also disabled the firewall.

This is a Dell PC with DEC Tulip compatible 10/100 LAN card in there. No wireless.

SUSE 9.1 worked just fine. Any ideas on what is happening?
