Network printer and lpadmin

I am new to lpadmin and can't seem to get the network printer (ie, it has its own ip address) installed using lpadmin. I've tried things like lpadmin -p Printer -v {ip address} -P /root/Printer.ppd but to no avail. I get the message

lpadmin: add-printer failed: client-error-not-possible
lpadmin: add-printer failed: client-error-not-found

The printer will be shared by windows users that connect to my Woody server running Samba. Help please

You could try to set it up with CUPS. Start the CUPS daemon "cupsd", then open a browser and go to "http://localhost:631" which is the CUPS configuration utility. The rest should be fairly painless.
