Network device 3c905 100BaseTX [Boomerang] will not activate

The power went out this morning, and when I turned the computer back on, my internet would no longer work. When I try activating the network device in network config, I get the error message:

"Cannot activate network device eth0!
Determining IP information for eth0... failed; no link present. Check cable?"

I assure you, I checked the cable.

I have it configured to automatically get the IP with DHCP, and automatically obtain DNS from provider.

Beyond these few things I could do from the GUI, I am most certainly a newbie with linux (I'm running Fedora Core 6). If anybody can walk me through how to fix this problem and get my internet back up and running, I'd very much appreciate it.

Thanks!

It's possible that if there was a power spike that either the Ethernet card or broadband modem was fried (I had that happen once to a dialup modem). Does your card have a link indicator light? If so, does it light up when the cable is plugged in? Do the lights on your cable or DSL modem appear normal? What does ifconfig -a show?

I forgot to mention that when I load Windows, the card works just fine, so I know the card isn't fried.
The lights on the modem and router appear normal (I even tried restarting them by unplugging them for 30 seconds), and the indicator light still comes on. It comes on as orange, which I'm pretty sure means that the card works, but there is no connection, but I'm not positive if that's right.

ifconfig -a shows:

eth0

That's kind of a pain typing all of that out manually...I miss my internet

Refresh...

It seems like this thread has kind of fallen out of view...so I imagine that if I post, it will be refreshed to the top of the list.
So it's been a couple of weeks now and I haven't been able to find any solution to my lack of internet. Anybody know how to help me?
Thanks!
