Can any one tell me about the following types of networks available in VMware ..
Host-only,Bridged,NAT
How they work and how to ??
Hi,
The host only network is just for communicating between two or more hosts not to communicate to the main machine(your machine). It means your virtual machine wont ping or reach shares between the vmachine and your computer. Vica versa.
------------
The bridge means that your virtual machine(host) behave like a real machine plugged into your network. So it will behave as a real computer in the network. (mainly used)
------------
NAT means the virtual machine(s) behind one network address. Same as when you have one public internet address and the 100 host behind it. So you need to forward every port(s) under the VMware network manager that you want to use on your virtual machine.
------------
Ya bro actually what U described are known but everytime I tried to configure I messed up somewhere and sometimes leads to no result means no networking..
