Question netplan (systemd-network) : how to connect to another AP?

Hello. I have an Ubuntu server 20.04 + lubuntu-desktop on Raspberry Pi 4.
The yaml config file for netplan uses default networkd, has 3-4 APs listed, and connects to available networks among listed just fine.
My question is, once connected to a n/w, how do I change it to connect to a different AP? Unlike nmcli or wpa_cli, I can't find a way to do it.
Thanks for your help.

My reading of netplan is that it is really designed for desktop/server type installations where the network environment does not change often. Laptops moving between network environments are better managed with NetworkManager IMHO.
