Netgear PA301 [HomePNA 2.0]

I'm having problems with my Netgear PA301 homePNA network card with slackware 9.1 and the 2.4.22 kernel. I've already got the Broadcom chipset drivers and compiled and installed them with the warning that the kernel was compiled with gcc 3 and not what the drivers used. I followed the instructions and used gmake. Whenever I boot up I still get a message saying it timed out trying to get a valid DHCP response.

The system has two ethernet cards and seems to detect both of them with no problem.

One is on the Motherboard a VIA-onboard
The other is the PCI netgear

is there anyway to make sure slackware is trying to use the netgear to contact the DHCP?

If your cards are both configured to contact a dhcp server then they will both do so independantly.

The Drivers werent installed properly. I've tracked down some slightly modified ones for my specific card and tried to force the install but still no avail. I tried to use the card in Windows XP and it does function but causes a lot of severe system hangs. The new modified drivers still wouldnt install and the Epigrams match up perfectly. The Card is probably defective.

Any final suggestions would be nice?

thanks anyway guys

Just incase anyone in the future can use the modification
