Netgear FA101 Need help getting it to work.

Hello all .
I am trying to get my Netgear FA101 usb to ethernet adapter to work with my series 2 tivo. I hope someone here can answer my question. I have a Hughes dvr40 directivo. I have enabled the usb ports, but the pegasus driver the Netgear uses does not recognize the device. I could get it to work if I knew how to add vendors to the pegasus.o driver on the tivo, but I do not know how. The pegasus driver is an ELF binary and I can not edit it. I have tried to download new source code from the internet and add the Netgear to it but I do not know how to compile it for my tivo. I know it can be done because I have seen on tivos web site that people have gotten the device to work with their tivos. I hope someone here can point me in the right direction. thanks.
