netfilter and dmesg

Hi,

I am logging iptables with -j LOG --log-level info on my Slackware box, but the drops are also listed in dmesg output. How can i disable dmesg logging? The drops still needs to be shown in /var/log/messages.

Marcus

Both should work for removing the log messages from printing to the console (since loglevel of info is 6), but IIRC, neither will work for removing them from the dmesg output (since it dumps the entire kernel log buffer). I’m afraid if you don’t want netfilter messages in your kernel log ring, you’re going to have to use something like the ULOG target with the userspace logging daemon.
