Need help configuring my network

I just made a fresh install of Debian sarge. I set my workgroup as MSHOME during the install. I pinged the computers on my network just fine. I restarted and it seems it's not in that workgroup anymore. I didn't touch anything, I just used ping to test if the connection was ok and everything pinged fine. It seems though that I'm not in that workgroup anymore because I don't see any of the computers in the network folder. Also, when I ping the debian box it responds with 300ms everytime. How can I change my network back to MSHOME?

There's a bunch of problems with the words you use in your post. They don't really make much sense.

I'm not sure if you are trying to set up a domain controller or what. You need to do some serious research on setting up samba to work in your environment.

If you need professional help, there's probably a few admins who would be glad to get a little extra spending cash here on LQ.

Other than that, everything is out there on the intarweb and Debian is a great platform for it.
