Nameservers and registering them Q

I did a search but didn't come up with what i wanted so i'm asking just for records sake

For example: If i have a domain and i registered i NS(nameserver) ns1.mydomain.com and say i want to add another NS couple months later with a new IP and it would be allocated to ns2.mydomain.com - would that interrupte the first NS that is registerd to the domain?

Can I register more NS as needed and how many NS can i have?

Thankx

YOu cna have as many name servers as you want, but you'll want to make sure they replicate properly or you'll cuase dns corruption. also: why multiple name servers?

that might also affect why you should or shouldn't do it.
