I am a medium-noob to sql and mambo. I installed PHP, MySQL, Apache and then mambo. When i try to set up mambo (over 127.0.0.1:80), it tells me that
" Session save path: Not set, Unwriteable"
And it won't log on / set up the SQL tables. I think that i will have to do it manually. It tells me that the account information is wrong, even though i have checked it more than 4 times,.
1) how do i fix the " Session save path: Not set, Unwriteable" error?
2) how would i set up the SQL table manually? / What could be the problem?
It sounds like a permissions problem, check in php.ini or a phpinfo() page and see what session.save_path is set to, then make sure that directory is accessible and writable by the user that your webserver is running as.
Ok, this tip worked great on the session path error, but i still can't log on to mySQL from Mambo. When i use the mysql admin tool, it works great. I even tryed logging on with root to mySQL, but it failed as well.
How can i get mambo to log on to mySQL (running on localhost) and create all its tables??
It tells me that the username and / or password are wrong, even though i am sure that they aren't and the usermane is "root", so permissions shouldn't be a problem.
PS: I am sorry about this other post. I thought that this post with replies would probably never be looked at again -- I was wrong, because this is a great forum, where everybody helps everybody, even if there already are replies to a topic! By the way, i am medium-new to forums in general and i am sure it won't happen again.
yes, the mysql password is actually set to the same password as the local root password, just to make it easier to test. When the server would actually go online, i would change both passwords to something longer and each one would be different.
