MySQL

everytime when i try to start the mysql database i get following error:

#2002 - Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

it's true that the file doesn't exist in this folder. what should i do?

are you sure you're trying to start the database? lokos more like you're trying to connect to a database that's not running in the first place. what are you actually doing?
