Ms Win2000 Server & Linux NIS Server ON the same network.
Dear Fellows ,
Hi,
I need Your Help , i m using win2000 dns server with ip 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.50( domain name is gost.com) , while my linux( red hat 9.0) client just connected to this network by entering a host entry in your nIcs like this mis.gost.com .
Mis.gost.com has been added to win2000 dns server.
now i want to setup a linux NIS serevr to authenticate and store data on server.
but i want to use linux nis serevr in the same network enviorment.
is it possible , if yes , then can you guide me a little bit.
I don't know of any graphical utilities to set up NIS [unless you're using Fedora, which sort of helps you a little]. However, I do know that The Linux NIS HOWTO can be a very big help for you, if you don't know where to begin. I suggest looking into that and then posting a new thread here if you have more questions about that.
