mount.nfs: Either use '-o nolock' to keep locks local, or start statd.

Hello,

Whenever I try to mount nfs share to my local machine i get an error saying "mount.nfs: Either use '-o nolock' to keep locks local, or start statd" can anyone help me fix this.

I'm assuming you are attempting to mount an nfs volume from a linux machine. If so, you must either add the '-o nolock' to the mount command, or start the statd daemon. Use 'man statd' to see an fairly good explanation of why one or the other is needed.
