Me (only ipv6) trying to use my servers dual stack capability

Because of my stupid ISP I only have unregular access to the ipv4 network. So I am trying to use my server, which has acces to both, ipv6 and ipv4 network.

Up until now I found 3 possibilities: ssh tunnel, vpn and 4to6 tunneling. The problem ist the first is to limited, the second and third very very bad documented when it comes to ipv6 usage.

Does anyone of you have a fourth, better solution or can guide me through configurating any of my presented possibilities, so that I can get this to work?
Thanks in advance, Joschka.

Hi,

a 4to6 tunnel is well documented here:

www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Linux+IPv6-HOWTO/x1373.html

Depending on how much public IPv4-addresses you have at server site, you have to do NAT additionally.

Another solution, but limited to some (web)applications is just using a proxy like squid-cache.

You can also look for public NAT64/DNS64-Services.

thanks for your answer. I did found this HOWTO you posted, but I found it very confusing. I finally managed to set up openvpn with ipv6. Its working great now, but it was very hard. (I would like to post a single tutorial on this one, but I patched up a lot of configuration and docs I found). So if anyone is interested I am willing to post my configuration and give a brief explanation of all the steps needed.
