Maybe a useless question

Please don't flame me if this is a really simple or stupid question.
Are there any settings that can be "tweaked" to squeeze a little more download speed out of my mDK 8.1 box? Man.....I hate to say this, like the recieve packet size in winblows????

Have an ADSL connection and it rocks..............but always want a little more.

IE user?

Ooh dear ;( Look and specialy listen! Copy a 1.4mb file to a floppy, ull get 20mins left, 20 seconds later ull be at 99% finished and 5 seconds left and ull be waiting 30seconds. If you beleave what IE says then ill have to :smash: you out lol

Anyway, even if windows says ur on a T3 over AOL with linux you can help it ill quote from the kernel menuconfig help :

make menuconfig, section : Networking options => [*] Packet socket: mmapped IO => help =

CONFIG_PACKET_MMAP:

If you say Y here, the Packet protocol driver will use an IO
mechanism that results in faster communication.

If unsure, say N.

It will make the connection more stable more of a "flow" but you cant break thze aol limits.

Wish you the best of luck. You can also try download managers for linux i think you can get them on the 0-day wareZZ sites like freshmeat and stuff.

have fun.
