Mapping between interface and nic

Hi all,

I need to know what NIC corresponds to which interface on a 2.4 kernel. Can someone tell me how to do that ?
For disks, e.g, you can ask /proc/ide/ide0/hda/model and /proc/ide/ide0/hda/capacity
but for NICs, I can't seem to find the info. The only association I could find between eth0 and the card's name, is in dmesg, where I get something like:
eth0: RealTek RTL8139 Fast Ethernet at 0xd4a6a000, 00:40:f4:44:ed:34, IRQ 10

Isn't this info available in /proc ?

Thanks in adv.

Don't know where to look in /proc if anywhere but you've got the mac addresse there for
one of them using dmesg

00:40:f4:44:ed:34

Look for the other one's MAC address in dmesg output and compare it to the output of

ifconfig
