MANET ad-hoc test

Hi everybody!!

I want to test a routing algorithm with Linux in order to create an ad-hoc network. I have installed a wireless network on 3 laptops and I have put the AODV algorithm. It works but I want to understand this algorithm by using ethereal. So I want to make a test and send ip packets between the laptops. However, I dont know how to do this test because the command ping uses ICMP packets so it is not what I want. Does someone know what command or what linux tool I have to use in order to send IP packets?

Thank you in advance

Pit
