mandrake client wont connect to slackware server

I run a slack 9.1 server/gateway/firewall, with two clients: one Win2k box, and another box dual-booting win2k and slack 9.1.
Both win2k clients are connecting to the DHCP server just fine, but the slackware client couldnt. So, I uninstalled it and installed Mandrake 10.1, but it cant connect either. I use the ipkungfu firewall, since it has easily edited lists. Any idea's on why linux cant connect? thanks
