Mandrake 10.0 and TeleWell IA300C Conexant ADSL PCI
Is there any way to get TeleWell IA300C Conexant ADSL PCI working with MDK10.0? My system is able to identify the card, but i can't 1) configure it 2) use it to connect to network. So is there any drivers? I know that TeleWell has published drivers for MDK9.2 but they don't work with newer kernel of MDK10.0.
My ISP uses
VPI=0
VCI=33
Connection Type=RFC1483 bridge
IP via DHCP=yes
More info about the device from http://www.telewell.com/
Have you gotten this to work?
I have the same modem but Red Hat 9. I know the page has the drivers for that system, but after I install them it still doesn't work.
I have DNA so my VCI is 100
other than that it should be the same.
whether it's pppoe, pppoa or bridge, I don't know.
no I didn't. I got it to work under mdk 9.2 and debian with older kernel. But since I play lot's of games and need support for newer HW it's required that I use the 2.6.*-kernel. And because I wasn't able to get that card to work under it, I bought ADSL-modem with built-in router for 4 comps. Works just perfect and it even wasn't expensive!

Well, I have had Telewell IA300 and IA300C on my pc, and yes, they both seemed to be working under mdk. The 300C even in Mandy 10. you might find drivers for that at www.easytel.fi (A finnish page, but it has also english translation) They have sold those cards. I personally searched a driver by the Chip manufacturer (itex) .
It just so happens that I am Finnish and don't have problems in understanding the page but the page doesn't have working drivers for the card and if I call or mail them they usually just say that they don't have technical support for Linux distributions... Oletkos muuten itte suamalainen? Easytell seems to lack the know how for GNU/Linux (this you can see in the install manual of Red Hat drivers) In fact. Even thou Linux was built here from a scratch, the community here is very anti-Linux. It seems really hard to get proper stuff for linux and I haven't heard of any stores that would sell computers that allready have Linux pre-installed, or even a store that claims to be Linux compatible. This Sucks... Jos sää tiedät sellasen kaupan Suomessa ni kerro toki vaikka emailina...

Ookey, I'll try to fetch drivers that work. (The problem was for me that it was d&%n hard to find .ko - modules...) Juu, pistän postia tuleen kun seleviää. I prefer useing english here since it *is* the most common language, and if these replys/threads help any other, then that'll be more than good... mutta kyllä, Jyväskylän pohjoispuolelta ollaan..
