I have an Acer Aspire 3620, I'd like to make Dlink usb 11-in-1 adapter default instead of internal wireless card.
I connnected it to desktop and it connects at 130MB/s my laptop is 54.
Also laptop sees it as network but can't hi-light to connect.
The only thing that I've seen that's even close is unsolved. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=10413079
Distro Debian Squeeze x86
I have atheros wireless, but woud like to use dlink usb adapter
I disabled radio still couldn't figure out how to get usb to work.
Is it possible to make dlink the first(default) or atleast be able to choose which device?
I'm still trying to get this Dlink usb wireless device to work on laptop. My objective i not to do away with the radio, but have option of using the faster usb device when I choose to.
I plugged the device into desktop and removed ethernet cable and it worked, so I know that it works in debian.
When I plug into laptop and it shows that it's there in network options, but can't click on it and enable.
Basically you don't need and for the most part can't have two so simply disable one that you don't want. Other ways are to not use a gateway address in the one you don't want to use or change metric to make it think it is the slowest.
