error in configuring sendmail-8.12.8-4 for feature to enable dns
Hi all
i am new in the org.i am having a prob. with sendmail-8.12.8-4.i am getting the error "did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA " whenever i try to telnet to my mail server at port 25.The o/p of EHLO localhost does not have the term 250-ETRN.For this i think i have add a patch to add the Feature('enhdnsbl').will anyone help me with how to add this dns feature and the format of this feature.
Thankyou all in advance
M.L
Unfortunately it turns out I had the same problem, and my proposed solution
did not help at all.
To turn on your 25 port, just change 1 line in your sendmail.cf:
O DaemonPortOptions=Port=smtp,Addr=0.0.0.0, Name=MTA
(from O DaemonPortOptions=Port=smtp,Addr=127.0.0.1, Name=MTA)
The thing is now my mailman stops working again,
I tracked down the issue, is that I cannot send email out side my server, though
internal emailing is fine.
Here is the log message from /var/log/maillog:
May 11 00:45:52 localhost sendmail[7480]: i4AGjq6D007480: ip_addr] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA
I added 1 line at submit.mc:
define(`confDIRECT_SUBMISSION_MODIFIERS',`C')dnl
And that did not help me that much.
How to make my sendmail working, so that my mailman can work again?
