lynx and proxy

i tried to connect with lynx to internet through a machine hwo runs WinGate(IP:192.168.0.2 port:55555), i setted an enviroment variable(http_proxy) with 192.168.0.2:55555 and still nothing! does anybody knows why?!

You need to set the proxy as follows:

export http_proxy=http://192.168.0.2:55555

The "http://" is important!

i've tried but the only thing i can get is: "unable to connect to host" i've tried:
export http_proxy="http://192.168.0.2:55555"
and
export http_proxy=http://192.168.0.2:55555
in different sessions of course!!!

Are you sure you have a proxy server listening on that IP and on that port? Any does it require any kind of authentication?

i was a little drunk...

my server's IP is 192.168.0.3
and i configured http_proxy to 192.168.0.2! your advise
