Lost LAN connection when booting without keyboard, monitor, mouser attached
OK this is stange..... I set up RH9 on my Win Xp network and used a KVM swith when I installed Linux so monitor, keyboard etc are all in sysconfig. at boot.
The network works fine and I can share etc plus use VPN to access the screen from XP.
Then I disconnect from the KVM swithbox and boot up with only the LAN installed and I can't connect at all.
Anyone had the same problem? Is it something to do with the boot process and anyone any ideas how I work around it.
If you turn on your computer with only the network cable plugged in like you said, let it run for a minute then plug in your monitor, you will probably see an error like "Keyboard failure press f1 to continue" Or something like that, If you do see anything like that you will need to go into the BIOS and disable any of the "halt on errors" sections.
