ln -s smbspool /blah/blah/hugh?

I am trying to set that kde printer manager gui up to detect and configure printers on a network with smb. It (kde gui thing) is not aware of the smbspool backend that lives in
/usr/local/bin/smbspool. How do i tell the printer manager to look at smbspool for its protocol. Ive been googeling like a luniatic and i could use some help. Thanks
