Linux Router attempt

Hello all,
I threw another nic in my server and got it workin nicely, however I wanted to set up that box as a router so I got to reading about what I would be needing. This is for LAN clients to access the net, so with that said, I downloaded squid 2.4STABLE3 and installed it.

Is there anything else I need? some people have said, on this board, to install a DNS server. Do I need to install BIND?

Also I am a bit confused with the iptables, err, I am familiar with accepting and denying,.....but I am confused with the MASQ and forward commands. Can someone lend some help?

'firestarter' does masq-ing for you w/ iptables, so if you use that yuo can then slowly learn the output of it, and design your own version my hand one day...

that's all you *need* you might want to install Bind and squid for the practise, but they're not actaully necessary esp not for a tiny network like yours.
