linux modem server
Hello everyone i have a tricky question :
I created an apache server and it works perfectly in local network. I also installed an usb modem to the server.
now the question :
I want to dial my server via telephone line, and after a successful connection i want to access the page provided by apache server by typing in the ip adress of the server .
What should i setup on my server ?
( the apache server works well on my local LAN and if i type ex. 10.0.0.1 i get the requested page on the LAN client browser ).
I am a user of the Mikrotik routing software and want to know how to block some bad traffic, its built on Terminal Linux but can be logged into thru the Putty, telnet and a windows tool called Winbox, please if anyone has an Idea on how to do some good stuff on it lets get to talk.
1/ Get the usb modem working. Start by getting it to dial out.
2/ Set up the modem to answer the phone and provide an IP connection.
3/ Once working, dialin. Start your browser. Type in the server address.

"By USB Modem do you mean a 56k modem, or a cable modem that connects by USB?"
The usm modem is in fact a gsm modul, but not to be scared it acts like a 56k modem .
