Welcome to LinuxQuestions.

There are several ways to configure the servers but the best answer really depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

You tried what? Please show us the exact command(s) entered and the results obtained.
It is really not clear what you're asking for help with.

Do you mean that your laptop is the VM host? What do you mean by "router"?

There are several options. Depending on what you need, most probably either bridged network or NAT. "Bridged" means that the VMs are connected to the same network as the host. "NAT" means they are on a separate network which is routed to the host's network, and NAT is used to access VMs from outside and also to go outside from the VMs.

As long as the VMs have IP addresses, no special commands are needed I guess. As far as I know, Mint will configure DHCP. When using a NAT network, Virtualbox provides the DHCP server; in case of a bridged network, you have to take care of the DHCP server.

Provide more details about your setup. Which network type did you set up. How is networking set up inside the VMs. Etc.
