linux 8.0

I am a linux 8.0 newbie and just installed a D-Link DFE 530TX+ card and noticed that linux is not detecting my card. I tried following their instructions to install, but nothing appears to be working properly. If anyone knows how to get it to install properly... please let me know. I believe it is compatible and I do have the driver on a floppy. BTW, I would need step by step directions.
Thanks for your time,
Justin Balbierer
