I've been trying to fix up my WPC11 with linux, and unfortunately I don't know all that much. I've poured through things, and can't figure out what's going on. The card itself doesn't seem to want to install.

I've ensured that hermes, orinco, and orinco_cs are all installed.

When I try /etc/rc.d/init.d/pcmcia restart, I get this:

To me, that means that it's not installed yet. Right? How do I.. uh.. do this? :C

Oh, yeah.. RedHat 8.0... Um.. Anything else you need to know, just ask. :/

I tried the same thing for a couple of days before I found a post that said that Ver. 4 of the WPC11 does not work with Linux at all. I took it back and managed to find a Ver. 3 which worked instantly right out of the box! Good luck.

I'm using the WPC 11 Version 4 right now in Redhat 9. The above link is to another thread that discusses (albeit in a roundabout fashion) how to get the card working. It's not an elegant solution, but it works.
