ldap

hi.

i have set up my ldap server on my sles9 server to run as a PDC for windows using samba.

i havent created any users yet and ther is a vergood reason for that! i know you have to create the users like administrator and the groups like domian admins and guests and what not first and in a particular order so they hav the correct SID's so as that windows will recognise the account administrator with administrator privilages.

i have been googleing for ages to find the website i used to set it up last time or one similar but couldnt find it. does anybody hear know of any good sites explaining how to do this?

thanks for any help or links in advance

i need to know the sids, uid's and gids for the ldap groups such as

Domain Admins
Domain Users
Domain Guests
Administrators
Administator

because you only get one attemt at creating a user with a certain SID and those users and groups need to have a specific SID for windows to recognise the user/group as a administrator as windows doesnt recognise a user by its name but rather its SID and when you deleat a user and creat the same user again it wont have the same SID it will have the next number up

thanks anyway
